Guitar legend. Jimi Hendrix, a favourite of my sister was colourfully displayed on my wall as kid. Explosion 1971 was a psychedelic master piece, how i wish i had looked after that poster, it's one of the most sought after today reaching 10's of thousands of Pounds.

For me it was bright and inspiring, most probably subliminally etching pop ideas into my mind.

Not sure if you know this but James Allen Hendrix was called "Al" by his family, he also was a left-handed guitarist who played on a right-handed guitar, as a kid his first guitar only had 3 strings.

Purple Haze came to him in a dream after reading a science fiction novel. When promoted to help decipher the songs meaning, Jimi pointed to a line at the end of the second verse "Never happy or in misery, whatever it is, that girl put a spell on me."

This is the first image i painted in London back in 1997, the black & white original (160cm H x 120cm W) is still my favourite and part of my personal collection. I have dabbled with several versions of this classic print but it wasn't until I looked deeper into the true character of this unique, loud and turbulent music pioneer that these wonderful edits came to life.

Vibrant, textured and eye catching.
