Robert Nesta (Bob) Marley, Jamaican singer songwriter and pioneer of reggae. His unmistakeable lyrics fused with reggae, ska and rocksteady made him one of the greatest artists of all time. Equally famous for popularising Jamaican music, being a Rastafari icon and for his outspoken support for the legalization of marijuana.
Bob Marley and the Wailers debut album The Wailing Wailers was a hit around the world with songs like One Love and People Get Ready. The group went on to release a further eleven albums before Bob set off on his own with his debut album Natty Dread in 1974 followed up by Rastaman Vibration. Shortly after the release of this album Bob survived an assassination attempt prompting him to move to London. Exodus produced in London incorporated elements of the blues, soul and British rock.
